Autism Resources
First things first: thank you for being here! If you're new, HERE is a link to my blog where I first openly discuss Jackson's Autism diagnosis in 2019. It was (& still is) quite a journey we've all been on but I felt sharing helped me cope & understand both my child & my parenting better. Feel free to just around & read other entries like To the Parent of A Newly Diagnosed Kid , Why "Functioning" Terms Are Trash , 23 Words to Know When Discussing Autism & Parenting , & ABA Therapy: Pros & Cons as well as many more!
Below are other resources I've gathered over the years. Unfortunetly, I haven't felt comfortable with a majority of umbrella Autism Organizations because al seem tainted in some way. However, I have come across some smaller, non-profits that do the work without the limelight.
ORGANIZATIONS:
The Color of Autism Foundation (Non-Profit committed to educating & assisting African American families with Autistic children)
Lily's Voice & Cam Communicates (provides AAC [communication] devices to those in need)
Beaming Health & Learnfully are an incredible resources for those looking for anything Autism based. From screening advice to getting a diagnosis, peer reviewed articles, resources for therapies, & even Autistic Adult therapies / care.
HERE is an every growing list of items we've found extremely beneficial with Jackson. Please keep in mind that every kid has different needs & what works for J may not work for your kid.
