When I was chosen for the Black + Boujee exhibit at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, I knew I wanted to create something that was “boujee” to me, not everyone else. Something personal to me is self-care maintenance. It’s something I always let slip whether it be because of financial, time or just excuses. I wanted to create a love letter to those that have made that commitment to self-care practices. This isn’t exclusively for those with braids & nails. 24 Karats is for you if you're taking care of yourself. Period.
